Drywall and more drywall....

Yep, construction update. :) The walls are up and the drywall is going up slowly. (It is now all up except for a small area that needs to be braced to hold the drywall on the curved wall.) John & the crew encountered several scheduling conflicts recently that slowed down the progress, but we are still moving forward. Its looking great already, and I can't wait to have it completed! I think they are going to do the trim work around the windows and put in the new door on the front next. There are large gaps in the window sill where the window installers took out some window seats and didn't close the gaps! Plus, the door has never fit well on the front and the cold air just comes right on in. I know the crew wants to do the demo work on the acupuncture room wall, but I asked them to do the front next....it gets COLD in there.

Here are some more pics.
John & Kyle putting up the rock on the backside of the curved wall.

Its a good think Kyle is so skinny...see him in the little space that was left between the curved wall and the current acupuncture room?!

This is the backside of the wall leading to the back bath (hallway) and is the inside wall of the room that will be the new adjusting room! This wall is now done as of this past Wednesday! :)

More video from my test.

Here is a video of my locks & throws from my test. Please bear in mind that I was TIRED by this time. :) Oh: Goki means that the opponent/partner is just standing there allowing the technique to happen to them. They are not resisting, nor are they providing any energy for the technique. Chopki means that the opponent/partner is actively providing energy for the technique by stepping forward and initiating an attack.

Note: the first 50 seconds of this video is the same as the previous video that was posted.

Frustrations and solutions

Don't you hate it when you have well made plans and they fall through, through no fault of your own?

I'm planning to participate in the Norfolk Triathlon on June 07 this year. Yep, crazy goal, but a goal none the less. I want to complete a triathlon this year, so I'm gearing up to begin training. Plattsmouth has been building a Senior Center / Fitness Center this past year and was to open this past month. Well, one thing lead to another and they postponed it to mid-February. I figured that I would still have enough time if it opened in mid-February, so I'd be set. This fitness center is going to have an indoor lap pool, and since I barely know how to swim, it is important that I get in the water SOON!.

So, today was an "open house" for the fitness center. I went out in the snow to see my new training facility ----only to be told that they are now not opening until APRIL! WHAT!?!? I can't train in 2 months! Needless to say, major frustration occurred, and not-so-minor emotional meltdown ensued.

However, I have an amazing husband who can sit back and make me THINK when I get that way, and we have a solution. Not as convenient, but a solution. There is a 24 hour fitness place in Bellevue (about 15 minutes from my office). They have month-to-month memberships, so I'll join that for the next couple of months. No pool, but treadmills and bikes. I think I can still squeeze in training over lunch, so I'm hoping to do that for the next couple of months until this place finally opens. I'm also going to check out the closest YMCA to see if they do "punch cards" or something so I don't have to join their facility just for the pool. If not, I guess I'd better learn to swim in a hurry once April rolls around.

So, I am still planning on June 07 for my triathlon debut. Am I crazy?? Probably, but it is a goal that I have, and one I intend to reach!
