Total Solution - August in Colorado

I've been quite busy and (obviously) haven't blogged in quite a while. The reason has been that I've been even busier than normal!

In the early part of August, I went to a seminar in Colorado to a place called "The Nature Place" near Pikes Peak. It was beautiful and wonderful out there. There was no cell reception (especially for our absolutely wonderful alltel!). There was intermittent internet connection, and there were no TV's in the cabins! I was on cloud 9!

This seminar was for work because I have invested in the Insight Subluxation Station technology to evaluate the function of the nervous system. I wanted redefine my practice to one of health and wellness and not just about pain relief. I knew that the Sub Station would provide me with the information and data that I needed for this transition. So, once you invest in the technology, the company ships you off to a remote resort for "training!" I had no idea what to expect, but I went, albeit reluctantly. This was the first time since Thomas & I were married that we would be apart for this amount of time without the ability to talk everyday. It worked out just fine, but I did miss him dearly!

Anyway, I flew out to Colorado Springs on a Wednesday and was taken to the resort. The lady in charge of the seminar was outstanding. Her name is Deb, and she knew everyone by name before we even met! She is amazing!

We got to the resort about 2ish on Wednesday and had until 6 before supper & the first lecture. I went for a swim, and then decided to nap because it had already been a long day! Here is what I awoke to: This is the view from my cabin door.

So, I ran to dinner and was soaked! It was okay, everyone else was too. Turns out there were about 62 of us there to participate in the training. I met some wonderful people, and know that many will stay in touch for a long time.

On the first full day (Thursday), the "powers that be" set up a "ropes course" for us to do. I wasn't too worried about it, heck, Thomas & I went rock climbing this summer...how hard could it be?? SHEESH! The first thing I hear about is a pole that you have to climb, about 32 feet in the air. I figure, no worries, I can climb that high, and we're harnessed in, so its safe. Then they tell us that we have to stand on the top!! REALLY!?!? There's nothing to hold on to up there! Notice in the second picture that the gentleman is kind of "resting" up there. He is thinking "How the heck to I stand up with nothing to hold on to??"
I did finally make it (not me in the pic), and it was amazing. I have a much better understanding of conquering fear now, and I KNOW that I can do much more than I ever thought possible.

We also did a climbing wall. After the pole, this was great! Also, after climbing a real rock-face this summer, this was almost easy. It was great. The climbing wall is about 38 feet high, I think.

Here is a group photo. That is Pikes Peak in the background!

After these experiences, we did many, many hours of lecture and training. I am amazed at what I learned from the experience! My purpose and philosophy for my business and life are more congruent and my practice is growing by leaps & bounds. I KNOW that I will do more and more for this community than I had originally planned.

I do have a fear of public speaking, but now that I climbed that pole, I know that I can do presentations without much fear. I have ordered a projector & new laptop in preparation for doing these presentations, and am planning to begin offering health & wellness classes in Plattsmouth soon.

I have to say, I feel so much better about myself and my abilities after this experience. There are still some things about me, personally, that I am not happy with, but I know that I am a talented person who can offer so much to this world. I am so thankful to have had this experience. Its amazing now, that when I'm faced with a difficult task, I can think about that pole and know that I can overcome the fear of the moment and move forward out of my comfort zone!

Oh, speaking of the pole. They did have a professional photographer there for triumph photos. Once I get mine, I'll scan it and post it here as well.
